Scenes from the animated series The Simpsons are generating considerable discussion on the internet, as various media outlets interpret them as a suggestion about Kamala Harris in a leadership role. However, fashionilliteracy.com revisited the episode and concluded that it actually unambiguously predicts Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. Presidential election.
Bart to the Future
This refers to Season 11, specifically Episode 17. Bart finds himself in a Native American casino, where a shaman shows him a vision of the future, in which his sister Lisa becomes the first heterosexual woman to serve as president of the United States.
This moment became particularly popular in early 2021. At Joe Biden’s inauguration, as we reported, the vice president Harris was seen wearing an outfit strikingly similar to the one worn by the animated character in a high office.
The media perceived this as yet another prophecy from the writers of The Simpsons, supposedly indicating Harris’s victory in the upcoming election. However, a thorough analysis of the episode shows the opposite. We found five reasons why Donald Trump will be president in 2024.
Discrepancy in Dates
Before showing Bart the visions in the fire, the shaman warns him that he will see himself as he will be in 30 years. The episode aired in 2000, meaning it references the year 2030, not 2024. This aligns more with the following dates:
- The planned elections in 2028;
- The year 2032;
- A possible emergency vote in 2030.
The Previous Leader
When Lisa assumes her duties, she tries to discover what has been passed down to her from President Trump, directly stating his surname and indicating that he held the position before her.
If we match the dates mentioned in the previous point, everything lines up. The Simpsons character could take office closer to 2030, following Trump, who will occupy the presidential office for one or even two terms starting in 2024.
Donald and Melania’s Purple Suits
The main argument among supporters of the theory that the episode predicts Harris’s victory is the purple blazer paired with a necklace. However, Kamala is not the only one to choose such looks.
In several photographs, a purple blazer or tie can also be seen on Donald Trump. Moreover, his first lady, Melania, often appears in such colors.
Harris Might Have Dressed Like a Simpson on Purpose
It’s worth noting that the similarities between Lisa and Kamala’s outfits might not be coincidence or prophecy, but a deliberate choice. Stylists could have selected an outfit for the vice president specifically inspired by the popular animated character, indicating Harris’s desire to emulate the fictional character rather than signaling a genuine prediction.
Without war
The main issues currently discussed in the U.S. are the wars in Ukraine and Israel, migration, abortion, and more. However, Lisa states that her administration will focus on education, the economy, and filling the oceans with water. This suggests that by the time she takes office, there will be no wars.
Finally, the shaman tells Bart that he still has the power to change his future. If we compare Lisa to Kamala, her presidency may not happen even by 2030, as in newer episodes featuring the future, the character has entirely different professions. Meanwhile, Trump’s presidency has been predicted in other episodes as well.
