The 74th beauty pageant officially took place in Thailand under the title “Miss Universe – 2025.” According to media reports, this year the title was awarded to 25-year-old representative of Mexico, Fatima Bosch.
It is known that the status of Vice-Miss went to Praveenar Singh from Thailand. Venezuelan Stephanie Abasali became the Second Vice-Miss. And the Third and Fourth respectively were Ahtisa Manalo (Philippines) and the representative of Côte d’Ivoire, Olivia Yace.
Judge Claims Everything Was Rigged
One of the main scandals surrounding “Miss Universe – 2025” was the situation involving a judge. Omar Harfouch withdrew from participation with a loud statement. He reported in an interview that the competition results were pre-planned. In addition to the official jury, there was a secret jury operating.
According to him, he was faced with a request to vote for the contestant from Mexico (who subsequently became the winner). According to one version, she is the daughter of the business partner of the contest owner, Raul Rocha. The interview with the former judge is scheduled to be released after some time. In turn, the organizers reject such statements, insisting that “Miss Universe” is conducted strictly according to official rules and with a corresponding honest vote.
However, the situation severely undermined the trust of many viewers and raised questions among the audience.
Organizer’s Quarrel with a Contestant
In addition to rumors of a rigged vote, another scandal erupted around the winner. During the sash presentation, one of the organizers, named Nawat Itsaragrisil, behaved aggressively towards the contestant from Mexico.
First, he criticized other contestants as well for not adhering to technical procedures. Then, he specifically insulted the future titleholder. Unable to withstand the rudeness, she left the stage. In a sign of support, several other contestants also walked out.
Furthermore, there was another noticeable incident. It was related to the representative of Jamaica falling from the stage. She fell during the evening gown show. She required medical assistance.
